First launched in 1990, the Pacifica series was driven by the California session scene where versatility, performance and individuality were key.
The Pacifica series has been constructed to respond to various genres and play styles. Various pickup configurations provide a wide range of sound character from heavy distortion to a clear clean sound.
Product Description 212VQM
The Yamaha Pacifica 212VQM is both sonically and visually appealing. The combination of woods used to construct the guitar, along with the pickups, produce well-balanced tones with plenty of clarity and sustain. The Alnico pickups also deliver touch sensitivity, dynamics, and excellent harmonics for the perfect performance.
Alongside its stunning voicing, you are also provided with a comfortable playing experience. The body has been sculpted into a double cutaway profile, which offers better access to the upper frets for an added high-end sparkle in your performance. The neck also allows for hours of comfortable playing, as it fits naturally into the palm of your hand. An all-rounder.
Stunning Tones
Thanks to its trio of Alnico pickups, set up in a HSS configuration, the Yamaha Pacifica produces stunning tones that can accommodate a variety of styles. These pickups also offer touch sensitivity, dynamics, and a warm, vintage tone. Much like other Alnico models, they deliver a gentle tone that brings excellent harmonics. The humbucker, which is placed at the bridge, creates a thick and crunchy sound, while the single coils produce a bright tone with a sharp attack. It also comes designed with a vintage style tremolo, which lets you add expressive vibrato, dive bombs, and pitch bends to your performance.
Perform in comfort
The guitar’s neck has been carefully sculpted from maple, which provides you with hours of comfortable playing due to its natural and smooth feel. Alongside great playability, the maple wood offers great tonal qualities. With the neck, you are provided with a bright voicing, packed with clarity. Its neck is topped with a rosewood fretboard, which also contributes towards the overall sound, as it delivers rich and warm tones with plenty of sustain.
Sculpted for Perfection
The Pacifica 212V’s body features a quilted maple top, which is not only visually attractive, but also sonically attractive. Its material enhances the overall sound with tight, bright tones and crisp cleans. It also adds to the guitar’s aesthetics by bringing an extra dimension to the appearance with its beautiful natural wood grain.
